The Board of Trustees

The trustees of the congregation are elected by the congregation and are comprised of nine members in three classes serving a three-year term. Trustees have the following powers: to receive, hold, encumber, manage, and transfer property, real or personal, for the congregation, provided that in buying selling, and mortgaging real property, the trustees shall act only after the approval of the congregation; to accept and execute deeds of title to such property; to hold and defend title to such property; to manage any permanent special funds for the furtherance of the purposes of the congregation, all subject to the authority of the session and under the provisions of the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church ( U.S.A.). The powers and duties of the trustees shall not infringe upon the powers and duties of the session.


Most Recent Trustee Highlights:

The stated meeting of the Trustees was held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 4 p.m. in the church parlor. A quorum was present along with Pastor Mary Ellen.

The Trustees heard the following reports:
 Cely Campbell gave the August Treasurer’s report.
 Charles Evans reported on progress in obtaining someone to repair the sprinkler system where pipes had been cut.
 Linda Chambers had presented the Trustees and the Session with the report “Checks and Balances
of Accounting Procedures for FPC” and consensus was that a monthly audit of the financials was
done by both groups and that Jess Cross will provide the proper documentation for the Session Minutes to satisfy the Book of Order requirement of an annual review of financial records.
 Charles Evans will go ahead with the approved purchase of a defibrillator for the church.
Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 4 p.m. in the church parlor.
